Yoga for Pain Relief

  • Scituate Salt Cave 164 Front Street Scituate, MA 02066 USA (map)

Yoga is a practice that connects the mind and body, and can help with chronic pain by improving flexibility, reducing inflammation, and helping us cope with pain mentally. By decreasing pain perception folks tend to feel their pain as less strong and severe than it was before practicing yoga. If you’re looking for a natural or holistic approach to common pain and/or tension in the back, lower back, sciatic nerve, nervous system, shoulders and neck, this class is for you.

This class is open for any body experiencing any kind of physical, mental, or emotional pain such as anxiety, depression, peri/menopausal symptoms, lower back pain, neck pain, arthritis, and autoimmune disorders. This class is beneficial for cancer patients and survivors coping with difficult treatments and ongoing side effects. In fact, oncologists and cancer organizations are recommending yoga and exercise as part of a cancer survivor’s recovery and management plan. Beginner yoga friends to advanced practitioners are invited to attend. The use of bolsters, yoga blocks, mats, straps, and blankets are provided.

The class is designed so it is safe and ideal to attend on a weekly basis.
